Your Body. Your Choice.
This is a principal that drives my life. Both inside the classroom and out. With a thorough knowledge of the body's anatomy from my experience of teaching dance for over a decade, I help my students to find their own voice while helping them to build their confidence. In your lesson, we focus on what matters and aligns with your goals. I believe that because everyone is made differently, that every will also sound different than the person next to them. This sounds like a conclusion that most people would come to, but I've worked with plenty of people who have been led to believe they "can't sing" because they were not exploring their own voice, but rather trying to fit into someone else's voice because they have been sold this idea that there is only one type of voice that can "make it."
Whether you are wanting to gain more confidence, pursue a career in voice, or are wanting to start a hobby, I believe there is a place for everyone in music, regardless of your how or why. I encourage my students to think of every lesson as an exploration of their body and finding the tools that work for them. I think it is important for everyone to find the right teacher for them. Singing is not a one size fits all, and neither are voice teachers. While I have a wide array of skills, and can work with anyone who is willing to try and show up with an open mind, I may not be the best teacher for you! If either of us come to that conclusion during our time together, I will help you find someone or resources that are for you. I have experience working with dancers, hypermobile singers (being one myself), brand new music students, and so many more kinds of people.
I believe that music should be available to everyone, and cost should not be a barrier to exploration, especially when working with other artists. If cost is the only thing keeping you from trying voice lessons, please reach out and we will find something that works for you!
